Salary: €75,000 – €85,000
Duration: Permanent
Location: North Dublin
Benefits: Pension contribution, 50% healthcare contribution and performance-based bonus

Chief Procurement Officer

Join a leading global FMCG company as the Chief Procurement Office, overseeing the entire procurement function for the Irish operation. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead a dynamic team, implement effective procurement processes, and drive cost efficiencies across the organisation.

As the Chief Procurement Officer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the procurement strategy and ensuring alignment with the company’s overall business objectives. You will be responsible for developing and managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and implementing best practices in procurement to support the company’s growth and operational goals. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills and a proven track record in procurement within the FMCG sector.

Responsibilities:

Lead and manage the procurement team, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance.
Develop and implement procurement strategies to drive cost savings and efficiency improvements.
Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and stakeholders.
Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure favourable terms and conditions.
Monitor market trends and industry developments to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.
Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Develop and manage the procurement budget, ensuring effective cost control and value for money.
Collaborate with other departments to align procurement activities with business needs.
Implement and maintain procurement systems and processes to streamline operations.
Lead and participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives to drive organisational success.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
Extensive experience in procurement within the FMCG sector, preferably in a leadership role.
Strong people management skills with the ability to lead and motivate a team.
Proven track record of successfully implementing procurement processes and strategies.
Excellent negotiation and contract management skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Knowledge of procurement software and tools.
Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers and stakeholders.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
High level of integrity and professionalism.
