You’ll be responsible for securing the goods for the company needs by researching options, comparing prices and negotiating favourable terms. You will coordinate with different departments to understand requirements, track orders and handle any delivery or quality issues that arise. By maintaining records, managing supplier relationships and ensuring timely procurement, you’ll help keep operations running smoothly and cost effectively. Responsibilities
• Identify and evaluate suppliers to ensure the best quality, price and reliability.
• Request and compare quotations to support cost effective purchasing decisions.
• Negotiate contracts, pricing and terms with suppliers to secure favourable agreements.
• Create and manage purchase orders while ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
• Monitor inventory levels and reorder materials as needed to prevent shortages.
• Track deliveries and shipments to ensure timely arrival of goods and resolve any issues.
• Maintain strong supplier relationships and address performance concerns when needed.
• Keep accurate purchasing records for budgeting, reporting and audit purposes.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and regulations when sourcing and buying materials or services.
• Analyse purchasing data and market trends to support budgeting and forecasting.
• Resolve invoice or delivery discrepancies by coordinating with suppliers and internal teams.
• Conduct supplier performance reviews to maintain high standards of quality and service.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying cost saving and process optimisation opportunities.
Requirements
• Experience in procurement or supply chain operations.
• Skilled in Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent attention to detail with strong data analysis capabilities.
• Highly organised with strong record keeping skills within automated systems.
• Effective communicator with strong relationship building abilities.
• Adaptable and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast paced environment.
• Self motivated, proactive and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Customer focused with a collaborative, team oriented approach.
