Operations Manager
Exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Operations Manager to join a well-established and growing organisation operating within industrial distribution, production and logistics. This role will take full responsibility for overseeing operational performance across two sites, ensuring the smooth coordination of warehouse, workshop, production and logistics functions. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving operational efficiency, maintaining high quality standards and supporting continued business growth.
This position requires a hands-on operational leader with strong experience in warehouse operations, production management, inventory control and team leadership. The Operations Manager will work closely with senior leadership to implement operational best practices, improve systems, processes and maintain a strong focus on customer delivery performance. Experience within industrial, manufacturing, engineering, distribution, or technical product environments would be highly advantageous.
Responsibilities
• Lead and coordinate daily operations across warehouse, production, workshop, and logistics functions
• Ensure effective operational alignment and communication between multiple sites
• Drive operational best practices to improve productivity, quality, service levels, and efficiency
• Oversee hose assembly production and workshop activities
• Ensure production schedules are achieved in line with customer delivery requirements
• Maintain high standards of quality control, traceability and continuous improvement across operations
• Manage inventory accuracy, stock control and warehouse efficiency across all locations
• Ensure effective goods receiving, storage, picking, dispatch, and shipping processes
• Optimise warehouse layouts, storage systems, and operational workflows
• Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety regulations and company procedures
• Promote and maintain a strong safety-first culture throughout operations
• Lead, motivate, and develop warehouse, workshop and operational teams
• Support recruitment, onboarding, training and ongoing staff development initiatives
• Conduct regular performance reviews and employee engagement activities
• Oversee operational ERP systems and associated IT platforms
• Support digital transformation and systems improvement projects within operations
• Manage inbound and outbound logistics activities including freight coordination and supplier liaison
• Monitor operational KPIs and provide regular performance reporting to senior leadership
• Identify opportunities for process improvement, cost reduction, and operational scalability
• Ensure high levels of customer service through effective operational execution
Requirements
• Proven experience in an Operations Manager position within manufacturing, logistics, distribution, engineering or industrial environments
• Strong leadership experience managing warehouse, production and operational teams
• Experience overseeing multi-site operations would be advantageous
• Strong knowledge of inventory management, warehouse operations and logistics coordination
• Experience within industrial products, engineering services, or technical production environments is desirable
• Excellent understanding of Health & Safety and ISO compliance standards
• Experience working with ERP systems and operational IT platforms
• Strong organisational, planning, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives and operational efficiencies
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Commercial awareness with the ability to balance operational performance and customer satisfaction
• Strong people management and team development capabilities
• Proficient IT and systems management skills
