As a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, the Operations & Supply Chain Manager will work closely with finance, procurement, sales, customer service and technical departments to optimise business performance. The position offers significant influence over operational strategy, investment decisions, process improvements and long-term business planning.

Responsibilities
• Lead all warehouse, workshop, assembly, logistics, inventory and distribution operations.
• Ensure operational activities are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with customer expectations.
• Manage operations across both the main facility and secondary storage location.
• Develop and implement operational strategies that improve productivity, service levels and profitability.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across supply chain, warehousing, inventory management and operational processes.
• Monitor and improve key performance indicators relating to productivity, stock accuracy, service performance, quality and cost control.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, environmental and regulatory requirements.
• Lead, motivate, coach and develop a team of approximately 25 employees.
• Manage performance reviews, employee development plans, succession planning and workforce engagement initiatives.
• Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, continuous improvement and operational excellence.
• Work closely with supervisors and team leaders to ensure effective resource planning and operational execution.
• Manage operational budgets and contribute to overall company financial performance.
• Analyse operational costs, margins, stock holdings and productivity metrics to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Prepare and present operational reports, KPI dashboards and performance updates to senior leadership.
• Provide strategic recommendations to support business growth, operational scalability and investment decisions.
• Collaborate with procurement, finance, sales and customer service teams to enhance customer satisfaction and operational effectiveness.

Requirements
• Proven experience in an Operations Manager, Operations & Supply Chain Manager, General Manager, Branch Manager or similar senior leadership position.
• Strong background within industrial distribution, engineering, manufacturing, hydraulics, technical products, industrial supplies, or related sectors.
• Experience managing warehouse, logistics, workshop, assembly, manufacturing, or supply chain operations.
• Demonstrable success leading operational teams and driving performance improvements.
• Strong commercial awareness with experience managing budgets, operational expenditure and profit and loss accountability.
• Excellent understanding of inventory management, supply chain processes, warehousing, and logistics operations.
• Experience developing and monitoring operational KPIs and performance metrics.
• Strong leadership, coaching and people management capabilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Highly organised with strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Comfortable operating in both strategic and hands-on leadership environments.
• Proficiency in ERP, warehouse management, and operational reporting systems would be advantageous.
