Warehouse/Operations Manager

The role of Warehouse/Operations Manager offers a fantastic opportunity to lead a dynamic team in managing and optimising warehouse and distribution activities. This position requires a strategic mindset combined with the ability to lead from the front. The successful candidate will oversee a range of operational areas, from goods-in to despatch, ensuring efficiency, quality, and alignment with organisational objectives.
This position is crucial for driving continuous improvement within warehouse operations, focusing on cost management, staff development, and operational excellence. Working closely with other departments, the role involves fostering collaboration to meet service, cost, and quality expectations.

Responsibilities:
• Lead and coordinate end-to-end warehouse operations, encompassing inventory management, unloading shipments, storage processes, order fulfilment, and outbound distribution.
• Collaborate with team leaders to formulate and implement operational strategies, ensuring seamless workflow.
• Optimise operational budgets by monitoring staffing levels, managing transport logistics, and controlling non-stock-related expenditures.
• Oversee workforce management, including hiring processes, conducting performance evaluations, and addressing HR concerns.
• Establish and track performance metrics to ensure operational benchmarks are met and surpassed.
• Champion process improvements by identifying inefficiencies, proposing solutions, and executing actionable plans to enhance productivity.
• Build and maintain productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Uphold compliance with company standards in quality control, health and safety.
• Act as the senior on-site authority when required, ensuring continuity of operations and site security during critical periods.

Requirements:
• Extensive experience in senior roles within warehouse and distribution environments.
• Demonstrated success in leading teams and fostering a results-oriented operational culture.
• Proficiency in stock management practices, cycle counting, and working with advanced inventory systems.
• Hands-on experience in implementing lean methodologies and process optimisation initiatives, with certifications such as Yellow or Green Belt highly regarded.
• Financially astute with a track record of managing budgets.
• Advanced knowledge of warehouse management software and strong general IT capabilities.
• Skilled communicator with the ability to engage, develop, and inspire team members at all levels.
• A solution-focused leader with a practical approach to resolving challenges and driving success.
• Dependable and resilient, consistently delivering excellence in high-pressure scenarios
