You will be joining a fast-paced team where strong attention to detail is essential. The role involves ensuring that materials, products and supplies are available in the right quantities at the right time. You will monitor stock levels, track inventory movements and identify when items need to be reordered. You will also liaise closely with suppliers to negotiate pricing, place orders and follow up on deliveries to prevent delays or shortages.
Responsibilities
• Track stock usage, storage practices and rotation procedures to minimise waste.
• Assist in maintaining and updating purchasing policies, procedures, forms and related documentation.
• Liaise with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely deliveries and assist in negotiating favourable terms.
• Work closely with operations and warehouse staff to ensure smooth stock flow. Serve as the primary contact for purchasing and stock related queries.
• Partner with department managers to ensure each area has the stock and resources necessary to meet operational objectives.
• Conduct and oversee routine stock checks and full inventory audits to ensure accuracy. Maintain up to date purchase and pricing reports.
• Create, process and manage purchase orders accurately and efficiently. Track incoming shipments, resolving discrepancies with suppliers if they arise.
• Produce data, metrics and analytical reports to support informed decision making and drive improvements in purchasing and inventory management.
• Monitor and maintain optimal stock levels, replenishing items in line with sales trends, operational demand and forecasted requirements.
Requirements
• Experience in a logistics, procurement and inventory management environment within a fast environment
• Strong technical understanding of purchasing and inventory systems
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and professionally.
• Demonstrated analytical and problem solving abilities, with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Self motivated, proactive and well organised, with a positive approach to tasks and challenges.
• Advanced reporting and data interpretation skills, with the ability to translate insights into actionable recommendations.
