Job Description

Role: Transport Coordinator

Salary: €30,000 – €35,000

Duration: Full-time

Location: Wicklow Rathnew (Hybrid)

Hours:

  • Monday to Friday: 08:00 – 17:00
  • One Saturday per month: 09:00 – 13:00

Transport Coordinator

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Transport Coordinator based in Rathnew. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning routes for a fleet of 12-15 drivers, ensuring efficiency and timely deliveries. This role demands a keen eye for detail, exceptional organisational skills, and advanced proficiency in Excel to handle data analysis and reporting.

The Transport Coordinator will work closely with drivers and other team members to ensure smooth operations and resolve any logistical challenges. This position offers a dynamic work environment with the chance to contribute significantly to the success of the logistics operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and optimise delivery routes for 12-15 drivers to ensure timely and cost-effective deliveries.
  • Monitor and track the progress of deliveries, addressing any issues that arise promptly.
  • Coordinate with drivers to provide support and resolve logistical challenges.
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, routes, and driver performance.
  • Utilise advanced Excel skills to analyse data and generate reports.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Liaise with other departments to align delivery schedules with operational needs.
  • Conduct regular reviews of route planning processes to identify areas for improvement.
  • Schedule and manage drivers’ work hours, including one Saturday per month.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in transport coordination or a similar role.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, including data analysis and reporting.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with drivers and team members.
  • Ability to work under pressure and solve problems efficiently.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations in transport logistics.
  • Flexibility to work one Saturday per month.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
